about

"It's about pain and pleasure and how the line between them is drawn in water, or sand as the idiom actually goes in english. Fairly simple but I wanted give a little abstract spin on it. "Wound drawn in blood" is not literal. It's merely symbolic to the state of receiving pleasure from pain but the pain doesn't cause actual nor serious damage to you. Drawn wound is a game of make-believe and blood is euphoria. Of course there are people who take it further but "Wound that bleeds" is not my kink. So no catering to that stuff from me, sorry!

From there, the text descends into the dilemma of feelings of pain and pleasure in love. Do I resent you so much that I actually enjoy when something bad hits you? Does my suffering cause you immense pain while I just want everything, that is good in the world, happen to you and ignore my agony? Does it all get better or not if they let go? Am I abandoned if I let go? Could I be hurting too much from the "bad" things that eventually are potential gateways to something better?

The music by Eppu and other fellow contributors, like I merely am too, is once again very natural sounding but far from oppressive. It's like a flow of mind (literal water) and introspection at the back of your mind (woods). The thoughts and questions are akin to ones that hopefully everyone of us are thinking of at some point in their lives. Don't take stuff for granted.
Lyrics like this could also go well with something much gloomier and darker, but I think this is much better. A perfect marriage!"

"Vereen Piirretty Haava to me was this foggy pond filled with reeds in the middle of the woods, faded and white. The mental image was a like a fisherman wading through it, lost but not afraid. Then the track moves on, the scenery changes to the eeriness of swans and finally to the emptiness of the pond which gives away to a heavy rain.

Fun fact: the bass synth in the second part of the song is actually a cold fridge in my then-near store!"

lyrics

A WOUND DRAWN IN BLOOD

The separation of pleasure and pain
A line drawn in water
A wound drawn in blood

It pleases me when you're not in pain
It pleases when I'm not in pain
It pleases me to be in pain
It pains me when you're in pain

Or does it please me after all?
Will I fall into the deep waters if I let go?
Will you fall asleep if I let go?
Will I burn out if I let go?
Will you come again if I let go?
